Professional Journalism still Trumps News from Social Media

Per our class discussion on how social media is affecting journalism, a major study released this week by Columbia University's Tow Center for Digital Journalism Stitled "Post-Industrial Journalism" finds that, while Bloggers, "crowdsourcing" and computer-generated articles are making contributions to the news media, they cannot replace professional journalists in digging up important news.
